KERESZTCSŐRŰ was a spring initiative as part of our 'Experimental Series' project. In this series, we launched single-batch beers, relying on your feedback to decide which direction to take with each brew.
We created Keresztcsőrű in two different flavors: one with pear and the other with blackcurrant.
During personal tastings, the majority clearly favored the blackcurrant variant, so we didn't hesitate to fine-tune the recipe. By early summer, our core beer selection was enriched with our first sour beer.
Contrary to the usual kettle sour, this one is made with the increasingly popular Philly Sour yeast. Thus, its sourness is more moderated, more ingratiating. To avoid the monotonous 'blackcurrant juice' effect, we made the fruit character more complex by adding some cardamom and Madagascar bourbon vanilla.
If you're craving a truly refreshing, tart, and fruity beer after a tiring day, Keresztcsőrű is the best choice!
